We do like to help people struggling with their research when we can, but we are not here to do all the work with no effort on their part. When we hear, 'thanks for the info, but now I would like to know......', it kind of makes us wonder what, if anything, these people have done themselves.
I did mention that it seemed to be from members other than those in GB, but I was corrected and told that it seems to be the younger peoples attitude today.
Over the last 14 years on TP , it now seems to be getting worse, so I just try to Grin and Bare it, but still try to help
Regards
Les
I am intrigued as to why you think you can whinge about things and then invoke my and other's names - you keep saying "we this" and "we that". well, I have no problem when it comes to helping others even to the extent of making their research efforts easier, so please, in future do not invoke the "royal we" in your messages.
Regards,
Ian Marr (always happy to help).
I have spent many an hour researching my family to the extent of traveling out of state to find the info I'm looking for and when someone seems to be putting no effort in doing their research, other than asking someone else to do it for them, it's kind of annoying.
I joined Ancestry.com to expedite my research as TribalPages was not that much help and it cost a bit more than TribalPages. As I have this resource available to me and I know a lot of people don't, I use Ancestry.com to help others.
In looking at the first page of the forum, I only see your name there once and that was to berate me, so keep your opinions to yourself.
I want to say just this...keep up the good work, I have seen you help a huge number of people including myself. It is a hard task doing a family tree, and even harder to help people who have no idea of what they are doing or where to go next. I have hit a brick wall myself and may have to ask for help. I just hope that you are there for me when I need you. :)
Thanks again.
