Hello and welcome to the Tubby Family site. It is called that because that is the name that I research the most and that is my maiden name. Please have a look around, if you are related to anyone on this site and would like your information added (or if there is a mistake and you would like it corrected) please e-mail me at J_Hop@windstream.net and I will correct the mistake.

It is very difficult find relatives of Tubby`s because
 1. They were Choctaw Indians (records were kept different for Indians) 2. There were many different ways the name was spelled; Tubbee, Tubby, Tubbe, Tubbey, etc.
 3. Tubby is only part of the name, at one time it would have been; Wakatubbee, Kanatubbe, Hotalubbee
 4. There are also Tubbys that came here from England but from what I can tell they are no relation.
 5. The name tubby also is some of the other tribes.

I have seen different Choctaw meanings for the name Tubby. Actually it is the ubi that has the meaning. I have seen where some say it means to kill, meaning that the person having the name had killed; deer killer, six killer, etc. I
have also seen where it means Warrior.

PLEASE sign the guest book so that we know what relatives (or anyone else) that has visited the site. Also this way we can stay in touch.

Thank you,

Treva Tubby Hopson

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
